Visiting Santa at Londonderry Mall in 2020.
Visiting Santa is one those yearly traditions that we all look forward to. I was so happy when I saw that Londonderry Mall was not going to cancel Santa this year. Obviously things are looking a little different, but that doesn’t mean that we can not enjoy some of our most loved and cherished Christmas traditions.
So, here a few things you need to know if you are planning on heading to Londonderry Mall for a chat with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Santa will be there from November 15th till December 24th.
Mr. & Mrs. Claus will be in their usual Northern Lights Wonderland Castle in Centre Court, but there will also be an opportunity to visit Santa on his own in Santa's Cozy Corner located on the upper level by Tim Hortons.
You are highly encouraged to book your appointment online.
All payments will be cashless.
Arrive only 5-10 minutes before your appointment, there is no sitting area available.
Masks must be worn in the photo as per Mall rules.
All detailed information is available on their website https://www.londonderrymall.com/events/londonderry-santa-photos
Our Experience
First of all I need to start by saying that I LOVE Londonderry Mall’s Santa and Mrs. Claus. He is my FAVORITE Santa in Edmonton. We have visited him many times through out the years and he is always loving and attentive with the kids. You can tell that spreading that Christmas joy is a labor of love for him.
Our whole experience was extremely smooth and enjoyable. Booking online was simple and easy. I received 2 appointments reminders which I found very helpful.
Being able to book a specific time online and show up 5 minutes prior to it, was a huge plus for me. Waiting in line for 30 minutes with little kids is never fun, so if it can be avoided, I am all for it.
The kids were able to chat with Santa and Mrs. Claus for a few minutes before the picture was taken and that is always my favorite part.
Yes, you have to year a mask for the pictures! Is it ideal? No, it’s not but. But I will take the mask if that means being able to keep this tradition going in 2020. One of my children was happy he did not have to sit on Santa’s lap this year…so there you go, there is always a silver lining in all situations.
If you had crossed seeing Santa from your list I would encourage you to think twice. Even with all safety protocols in place, it still felt magical because the spirit of Christmas will never be cancelled…no matter what is going on in the world.
